Chris Craig - physiotherapist

As a physiotherapist, there are two things that I want to know with every patient that I see:

  • Firstly, what is the problem, the diagnosis?  What is physically wrong with this patient, causing their problems, dysfunction and their pain?
  • Secondly, and just as importantly, why is this problem happening?  Is it age related?  Are there biomechanical problems that we need to address?  Is the patient’s posture an issue, is there some muscle weakness we need to address or are there lifestyle causes that the patient needs to change.

Chris graduated from the Lincoln Institute of Technology in 1983. He then spent the next two years working in hospitals, mainly the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital gaining valuable inpatient experience in orthopaedics. Chris commenced at the OSPC in May 1985 initially working with Wayne Nash.

Chris worked with the Coburg Football Club in 1987 and 1988, before becoming the team physiotherapist for the Collingwood Football Club from 1989-1991.

With the purchase of a building in 2000, the practice was moved to a new location (two doors down) at our current address 286 Manningham Road.

With the birth of two strapping sons, Chris’ football involvement was then confined to looking after his sons football teams!

Chris has a strong interest in all musculoskeletal conditions but through his football involvement has developed a strong interest in sporting injuries; knee and shoulder problems as well neck and back. He is a keen and regular runner and weights enthusiast, helping him develop his interest in shoulder and knee problems.

When relaxing, Chris has can be found in the garden and is always happy to give you gardening tips!
